MISSION CONTEMPORARY DINING TABLE

This Mission Contemporary Dining table was part of a major commission that AFD did in 2008.  The dining table opens to110" with 3-12" leaves.  The top is inlayed with cherry butterfly keys and it will seat 10 in comfort and 12 using the ends.  The table is 48" wide.
Size: 30" high 48" wide and 110" with leaves

MISSION CONTEMPORARY DINING CHAIRS

The side and captain's chairs are on the same plan. The mortise and tenon joinery will assure you of a chair that will last for a life time.   This is and advanced project that requires steam bending the back slats.  Our well detailed instructions show jigs and fixtures to make a production run of 8 chairs.
Size: 48 1/2" high by 17" wide and 17" deep.
Skill Level: Advanced
 
We recommend the American Furniture Butterfly Inlay Template Kit for making the keys, Part #AFD9503 for $65.95 with a sale Price of $59.65, includes Whiteside router bit and guide bushing!

 
 

MISSION BED & NIGHTSTANDS

This queen-sized bed is an outstanding project that fits very well in most homes today. The Art's & Crafts style is reflected in the head and foot boards and sets a modern theme of this classic design.  The bed is constructed of mortise and tenon joinery and the all they are pined in place with cherry pegs. The corbels on the legs lend a striking touch of style to the bed.

KEEPSAKE CABINET
 

This delicate mahogany and maple cabinet is a miniature treasure box for precious things. The knife hinges allow the door to open 120 degrees past the case sides. Rare earth magnets in the door and the cabinet, pull the door closed by magnetic attraction and we give the source of supply for them.
Size: 13"high by 10 5/8" wide and 5 ½" deep.
 

 


MISSION HOPE CHEST
 
This design of a Mission Hope Chest can also be used as a coffee table as it is finished on all sides. The drawers on the front are non-functional and the chest is lined with cedar planking which is available at all home centers. We offer the Mission style drawer pulls in our hardware kit.
Size: 18" high by 50" wide and 20" deep.

HOPE CHEST COMBINATION
 
When you purchase this design you will receive two plans for one price. This selection has a Shaker influenced chest and Federal chest that has simulated front drawers. Both chests are cedar lined.

  WIN A GRIZZLY TABLE SAW: We are pleased to announce the twelfth year of our Furniture Design Contest. We will award a Grizzly Table saw to the woodworker who creates the best piece of furniture from an American Furniture Design Plan. The Grizzly table saw is rated by American Woodworker Magazine in a recent comparison of table saw, as their "Best Buy".  You may also submit designs of your own. You will need to supply two color photos of your piece, a front view and a side view along with a description of the materials that you used. Your photos will not be returned. We plan to have 3 finalists and from them we will award the Tablesaw on December 15, just in time for Christmas 2010.
