ARTS & CRAFTS PLANS

Today, 100 years after William Morris, Gustav Stickley, Frank Lloyd Wright and others introduced this style of design, American has re-discovered it. We are pleased to offer eleven designs that truly represent this style of furniture.

|BOW ARM MORRIS CHAIR & SPINDLE ARM MORRIS CHAIR
chairs are a direct reflection of the work done by William Morris in England in the early
1900's. They are also influenced by the work of Gustav Stickley here in America. Both of
the chairs feature quadralinear leg post construction. These posts have four quartersawn
oak boards mitered and then glued. This construction technique best displays the oak's ray
flake which seems to wrap around the leg. Our well detailed instructions explain three
different methods of leg construction.
