Roll Top Desks are part of American History and are a challenging project to build. In 1850, Abner Cutler, owner of the Cutler Desk Co. in Buffalo, New York, was the first American to patent the roll top desk that we know today. The curved tambour top became his standard and it has become a classic style that has endured for more than 150 years. Without a doubt this rendition of a Cutler Roll Top Desk, has been our most popular design. We have expanded the directions to 20 pages. There are now over 30 photographs of construction detail that assure you of a great project that is easy to follow. The instructions detail jigs and fixtures for building the tambour which greatly reduces your cost to build this American Classic. We also give a source of supply for ready made tambours which fit this desk...
